The Center for Bioethics and Research (CBR), Nigeria, in collaboration with the College of Medical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, hosted a two-day institutional training on the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) from June 1–2, 2026.
The event kicked off with a courtesy visit and featured interactive group activities and assessments designed to build practical compliance skills. Key sessions delivered by expert faculty covered critical topics, including:
- Research Ethics: Preventing data falsification, manipulation, and plagiarism.
- Data & Misconduct: Secure data management, data sharing, and protocols for handling research misconduct.
- Professional Standards: Navigating conflicts of interest, collaborative research, mentorship, and ethical authorship/peer review.
- Inclusive Environments: Promoting safe, harassment-free research spaces and practical case study discussions.
The workshop brought together university leadership, faculty, and researchers to strengthen institutional standards around scientific integrity.
