Teaching and Writing Methods in Bioethics

This course concentrates on the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills for teaching and writing bioethics effectively for a variety of students at different levels of training. The student after completing this course should be able to teach bioethics and write qualitative and quantitative papers in bioethics

The course objectives are:

  • To identify challenges and develop strategies for enhanced teaching and learning of RCR, RSI, CoI, and SASHFWE.
  • To appreciate how to communicate about RCR, RSI, CoI, and SASHFWE to different audiences.


Course modules include:

  • Parts of a report/paper
  • Use of graphics for effective communication
  • Style
  • Use of PubMed, Google®, and other search engines and Citation managers in Bioethics
  • How to get published
  • Response to reviews and criticisms
  • Use of presentation software
  • Editing and Proof-reading manuscripts
  • Teaching Effectiveness
  • Evaluation of teaching effectiveness
  • Use of Narratives and Case Discussions in Teaching Bioethics
